Spring Arrangement: Pretty in Purple

Spring Arrangement: Pretty in Purple

March 20, 2021

Ikebana principles in this month's arrangement:
Our lesson will focus on creating a vertical arrangement that showcases the dramatic lines of the liatris and the light and airy nature of the plumosa. As you create your arrangement, observe the natural lines of your materials and think about arranging each flower as though it’s reaching for the sun.
Pro tip:
If you have difficulty inserting thin stems like those of your plumosa, try inserting them at an angle so they catch diagonally on your kenzan pins.
Remember to cut all of your flower stems at a slant while under water. The slanted bottom will make inserting the stem into the kenzan easier and allows your flowers to absorb more water.
Care tip:
Top off your vase with water and mix in the flower food. Refill or change the water everyday.
